We are in the process of upgrading to Microsoft Project Online but are very confused. We have Office 365 and actively use SharePoint. We have 97 licenses of Microsoft Project Online Desktop Client. We are not sure what we need to purchase? Do we need Project Online Essentials for Read only users? What is the difference between MS Project Online Professional and Microsoft Project Online Desktop?I have a sheet which shows me the difference between MS Project Online Essentials, PRoject Online Professional, Project Online Premium and Project Server 2016. It tells me the difference but does not necessarily tell me what I need.In addition, I am confused about Power BI Reporting Services and Sequel Server Reporting Services. We are looking for a robust reporting and analytical tool. I understand the PBIRS is a superset of SSRS and there are licensing considerations.

However, basedon my questions above, not sure which direction to go with either.Help!Deirdre Anderson. Hi Deirdre,First please check about the available options.Project Online Desktop client is the Project application that we can install on PC. Please check the Fully installed, up-to-date Project application section in the article. We can see it is included in Project Online Professionaland Project Online Premium, but not in Project Online Essentials. If you would like users to check Project Online only, Project Online Essentials is recommended.Meanwhile, about Power BI Report, we suggest posting the query infor dedicated support; about SQL Server Reporting Services, we suggest posting the query infor dedicated support. Here are the articles for your reference:Thanks,Tina.
