I've spent quite a while (little more than ½ a year) on FL Studio 7 XXL now, but even though i feel like my music is good, people keep saying i shouldn't use presets.I've tried to take their advice, but i simply can't find ANYTHING at all. No extra plugins, nothing.
Wait, no i found a site with a couple of free soundfonts, but thats it. I got a friend here at newgrounds who gave me a good piano soundfont (126MB o0) and a plugin called Vanguard. But i've got a new computer, and i'm blank. If anyone knows some links or even if someone just can point out where there is anything.Regards,- David K. What i do for drums and other stuff is go to Breakbeat Paradise.
They have a ton of drumloops and stuff that are royalty free, and you can slice em up. They have different packs of drumloops, like there might be a 'house beats - 125 BPM' and you download and you have like 20 different loops to slice up, filter, whatever. They also have guitar loops, acid loops, strings, vocals, all that kind of stuff.
3) The last step is to add our newly installed Vst to the database, Fl Studio has two option for storing your Vsts, either you are installing an Effect for your mixer track (i.e Wave compressor) or Instrument(Called Generator) i.e Piano classic, Nexus, etc.
I know this kinda seems like an advertisement, but this has helped me a lot, so go and check it out! Argh?No really, there are tons of good free Vsts and Soundfonts out there for you to use if cash is short at hand. KVR is the motherload of plugins of all sorts, so it is a great place to start.Hell, there are even free sequencers out there that you can use if you can't afford something like FL or Reason. (ex: Reaper)Also, don't forget about things that let you create your own plugins, such asor what I think is even cooler., which is a programming language which allows you to program music and even plugins for other programs from 'scratch'.So, never fret, it is very possible to make good music without dropping thousands of dollars first, and still avoid the wrath of the ban-plank.
